CULVER CITY, Calif., and SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- In the spirit of giving this holiday season, Sizzler restaurants are sponsoring the first-ever Children's Miracle Network nationwide holiday toy drive.
All 225 Sizzler restaurants in the United States, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico, are participating in the toy drive, which is underway and runs through Wednesday, Dec. 19. Sizzler restaurants are serving as collection points for donated toys, which will be distributed to the 170 local hospitals supported by Children's Miracle Network. Visit http://www.sizzler.com/ for restaurant locations and http://www.childrensmiraclenetwork.org/ for a list of Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
"I am amazed by the reach of this toy drive, and the passion and dedication of the Sizzler USA staff participating in the program. We want to help put a smile on the face of hospitalized children during this holiday season and hopefully, with the help of our communities across the country, we will be able to accomplish this," said Denise Bayles, Director of Children's Miracle Network for Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Toys will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network hospital serving the area from which they are collected. If there is no local hospital, the toys will be donated to the closest Children's Miracle Network hospital.
"Since our first restaurant opened 50 years ago, Sizzler has always been a family place," said Ken Cole, Sizzler USA president and CEO. "When we learned about the need for toys from Children's Miracle Network, we immediately knew that this is a problem we should help solve, and we are delighted to be sponsoring the toy drive, as well as, other Children's Miracle Network activities."
As part of its 50th anniversary, Sizzler has pledged to raise $50,000 for the organization.
Children's Miracle Network is requesting the toy donations be new, in original packaging and unwrapped. Due to allergy and germ control, the hospitals are unable to accept stuffed animal toy donations.
