Alpine Village Set to Open
By Gina Neupert
The members of Trinity Baptist Church, 8899 Trinity Road, are preparing to present The Alpine Village, their annual Christmas gift to the community. In its 11th year, the event reaches thousands of children and adults and has become a holiday tradition. It will be held Thursday through Sunday .
The introduction of The Alpine Village stems from a church wide vision to increase outreach and ministry in the community. Trinity member Reg Patterson, the original designer of the village, built a complete miniature replica to illustrate how the village could be executed. It was with Patterson’s skill and the dedication of Trinity’s family that helped realize the coordination of the village as it is known today.
The Alpine Village offers a number of quaint shops and activities for preschool children through the sixth grade. Many shops offer opportunities to make ornaments, small gifts and crafts. In addition to puppet shows, a village chapel, live nativity scene, music and snow, children can visit with St. Nick via the Santa Express.
There are no admission fees to attend the village, however tickets are required. The Alpine Village will be open from 6-9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2:30-5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday . For details, call 788-5673 or visit trinitybaptistchurch.org.
Tickets are available online while supplies last. You will receive a confirmation number upon registration that will enable you to pick up tickets 30 minutes prior to attending. Tickets are only good for the indicated session. Strollers are not permitted and childcare is not available. Adults do not need tickets, but all children must be accompanied by an adult.
