ContentWatch's Security Appliance Named Reviewer's Choice By Government Computer News

ContentWatch, Inc. has further strengthened its leadership role in the Web content filtering market after its ContentProtect Security Appliance was named Reviewer's Choice by Government Computer News, outperforming five other competitors in the publication's review of Web-content-filtering appliances.
"A network administrator is sometimes faced with the onerous task of monitoring Web activity and blocking sites the organization deems inappropriate. This can be made even more difficult if the administrator is working with an already-strained budget," said the article. "Fortunately, Web-content-filtering systems are common, and they are often integrated with other network security functions, such as firewalls, antivirus programs and even intrusion- detection/prevention programs. This can save an administrator not only money but also precious rack space."
"We were pleased with the precision with which it handled our tricky Web site list," said Government Computer News of the CP 100. "It was not fooled by any of the potential false positives and managed to stop nearly everything else. It even blocked a Java-based program from connecting to play online board games, which no other appliance in the review managed to do."
The CP 100, in addition to its dynamic content filtering engine, includes features such as bandwidth management, virus and spyware protection, IM and peer-to-peer control, which all help IT administrators manage in real-time what is happening with their network.
"We were extremely honored to be chosen as the Reviewer's Choice by Government Computer News," said Jack Sunderlage, President & CEO of ContentWatch. "With reports suggesting that up to 40 percent of Internet use is unrelated to business, it is extremely important that companies ensure that IT resources are being used to complete mission-critical projects. The CP 100 gives administrators the control they need to allocate IT resources appropriately."
In addition to the CP 100, ContentWatch has three other models of their security appliance -- the CP 300, the CP 350 and the CP 450. The models range in user capacity from 200 to 5,000 and support HTTP bandwidth capacity from 1.5 Mbps to 45Mbps.
