Webs.Com Acquires FightClub and Introduces Social Gaming Network

Social media company Webs.com has launched its first gaming network, the Social Gaming, designed for the development and integration of gaming into popular social networks. The launch is strengthened by SGN's acquisition of the social network game FightClub.
Social Gaming Network (SGN) develops and integrates online games into social networks such as Facebook and MySpace. The first game WarBook was launched by SGN went live in Facebook in August 2007. In addition to WarBook and FightClub, SGN's games portfolio includes Super Snake, Street Race, and Blocky.
"With today's acquisition of FightClub, we are building on this 'network effect' and the extraordinary growth rates that delivers, and will continue to make great strides in this space as we become the leading provider of games for social networks," said Shervin Pishevar, president at Webs.com.
"SGN is offering games and gaming environments that uniquely leverage people's social connections transforming a typical gaming experience into one that is more relevant, more engaging, more competitive and ultimately more enjoyable for the player," said Mr Pishevar.
According to Social Media, although Webs.com is positioning SGN for social networks in the broad sense, currently the games available are through Facebook.
Recently, social networking site MySpace has formed a partnership with Oberon Media to create a new gaming channel on its site.
