American Media Services-Internet Changes Name To TheRadio.Com LLC

Posted on: Tuesday, 11 December 2007, 12:00 CST

American Media Services-Internet LLC today announced that it has changed its name to TheRadio.Com LLC, reflecting the ongoing global shift to digital media and online radio. The change is designed to better identify the market in which the company operates, and to establish its products and services among media companies, agencies, advertisers, and the listening public.

American Media Services-Internet was launched by American Media Services LLC in December 2006 to assist radio station owners and operators in setting up and managing streaming radio sites. Since then the company has grown systematically to incorporate a number of enterprises within the online and digital space, and will be unveiling several new enterprises and joint ventures within the coming weeks.

"Originally we were looking for the terrestrial radio industry to recognize that our Internet venture was associated with American Media Services and to capitalize on our reputation with broadcasters," explains AMS President/CEO Edward F. Seeger. "But we also already owned the domain name 'TheRadio.Com,' and it became evident over the past few months that this URL said exactly who we are and what we're doing. Every time it's referenced, people will know where they can find us on the Internet.

"American Media Services LLC believes that the Internet will become more and more important to radio," Seeger continues. "Broadcasters hopefully will see--sooner rather than later--that this technology will expand their potential for listeners and revenue. Changing the name to TheRadio.Com allows us to communicate to them--and other entities--just how critical it is to add an interactive, online component to their day-to-day business plan."

"It's quite clear that the Internet and other methods of delivering digital content are guiding the expansion of the new media universe," observes TheRadio.Com President/CEO Reed Bunzel. "From its beginning, this company has planned some amazing ventures that will take full advantage of the technological shifts that are occurring on a worldwide basis. Under the umbrella of TheRadio.Com we now will be able to merge the finest audio content with the best distribution systems available and fully serve the digital global marketplace."

TheRadio.Com currently features approximately 100 formats, each of them programmed by music professionals who understand the power of the Internet and who recognize that today's "new media listener" increasingly is accessing music in an online context that traditional media have been slow to adopt. All formats are available for listening at the "beta-test" website TheRadio.Com; they also can be customized for HD Radio syndication, meaning that broadcasters easily can begin transmitting a multi-channel "HD 2 or HD 3" radio broadcast or incorporate a wide range of revenue-producing online stations into their websites, providing listeners with an expanded range of radio programming. Additionally, all channels are offered as turnkey or customizable streams for use by broadcasters, newspapers, retailers, religious organizations, schools and universities, and a host of other entities.

TheRadio.Com LLC is an affiliate of American Media Services, and is designed to provide radio stations a turnkey solution in streaming audio content on the web, and generating revenue from online advertising. TheRadio.Com was launched in December 2006 as American Media Services-Internet to assist radio station owners and operators in setting up and managing streaming radio sites.

American Media Services LLC is a full-service radio brokerage, engineering and developmental engineering firm, and its developmental division leads the country in successfully implementing station upgrades by moving them into larger markets, dramatically increasing their value.
