Motorola Selects BVRP Software's Mobile PhoneTools for Japanese Market Introduction
Posted on: Tuesday, 11 January 2005, 12:00 CST
DENVER, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- BVRP Software, a leading OEM provider of communications and mobility software, today announced the initial shipments of its Mobile PhoneTools application to the Japanese market. Mobile PhoneTools is bundled with the Motorola 702MO and 702sMO devices recently shipped to Vodafone in Japan.
With the latest expansion of its global supply agreement with Motorola, BVRP will enter a cellular market widely viewed as the world's most technically advanced. Mobile PhoneTools is already available to Motorola customers in North America, Europe, Latin America and other parts of Asia, where it is bundled with phones, USB cables and Bluetooth USB dongles.
With its launch in the Japanese market, BVRP now provides support for Mobile PhoneTools in 20 languages, including Chinese, Korean, Thai, Czech and Russian.
The BVRP Windows-based program enables cellular subscribers to easily connect a computer to the Internet through their mobile phone, as well as move, personalize and synchronize data between the phone and the PC. Either Bluetooth or a USB Cable is used to connect the two devices together.
"Mobile PhoneTools has become an important part of the Motorola global product offering, giving end users the power they need to manage the growing amounts of data stored on their Motorola devices," said Tom Okada, General Manager of Motorola PCS Japan. "Motorola bundles BVRP's software with many phones worldwide, so it was only natural to turn to BVRP to supply the same software for our new phones being supplied to Vodafone."
Mobile PhoneTools allows users to manage contact information, appointments, ringtones, wallpapers and other data on mobile devices. Managing this data on a computer is particularly useful when switching phones, as it eliminates the time-consuming and frustrating process of entering phone numbers and other address book data manually.
Mobile PhoneTools also enables any cellular phone or Web-enabled mobile device to function as a modem for users' laptops, ensuring "anywhere access" to the Internet through their laptop for anyone with a cellular phone.
"Motorola's widespread adoption of Mobile PhoneTools has helped give the product a global footprint and enabled us to offer the most fully featured, reliable and easy-to-use data synchronization tool for today's mobile business and personal lifestyles," said David Wright, executive vice president and director of BVRP's OEM division.
