The Radicati Group Releases New Study, "Messaging &Amp; Collaboration - Business User Survey, 2007"

The Radicati Group, Inc.'s latest study, "Messaging and Collaboration - Business User Survey, 2007," shows corporate business usage and attitudes with regards to messaging and collaboration within a broad set of companies across the world.

On average, survey respondents sent 38 e-mail messages per day, compared to receiving 93 e-mail messages per day. Of the 93 daily e-mails received, an average of 18 e-mails included an attachment.

On average, survey respondents indicated that 18% of the total messages received are spam. This is encouraging considering that 75% of all e-mail traffic is spam, as it suggests that anti-spam technologies are keeping up with the latest spamming techniques.

According to study, 77% of respondents at times forward their business emails to their personal accounts. This can be frightening for organizations -- especially those in regulated industries -- as once these emails are forwarded outside of the company's network, they are non-compliant and can potentially be leaked to any number of third-party individuals.
