DIRECTV(TM), an Antenna Software Customer, Wins Network World Enterprise All-Star Award

Posted on: Tuesday, 18 December 2007, 09:00 CST

Antenna Software, delivering real business mobility to the world's most demanding enterprises, today announced that its customer, DIRECTV, was honored with Network World's Enterprise All-Star Award for its highly successful mobile CRM (customer relationship management) project. DIRECTV used Antenna's AMPower™ SALES solution to provide its 75 area sales managers (ASMs) with real-time customer and product information in the field -- allowing them to access essential data and manage accounts using their BlackBerry smartphones. Since deploying the mobile solution, DIRECTV has improved sales efficiency, productivity and problem resolution.

DIRECTV was challenged to provide its mobile salesforce with consistent, up-to-the minute marketing and sales information -- without consuming valuable IT resources. DIRECTV found the solution in Antenna's AMPower SALES mobile application, an on-demand solution that manages and guarantees delivery of bidirectional wireless communications and transactions between the device and the back-end system.

Since deploying AMPower SALES, DIRECTV has seen the following business benefits:

30 percent increase in the number of accounts that can be visited in a week

More than 90 hours a week saved by the sales team

Improved frequency of sales data reporting from seven days to one day

Service request resolution shortened from five days to three days

"DIRECTV's successful implementation of Antenna's AMPower SALES caught the judges' attention for its smart decision to mobilize its CRM on-demand applications," said Beth Schultz, editor, Network World. "This achievement earns DIRECTV a 2007 Network World Enterprise All-Star Award for quickly boosting the sales team's effectiveness and productivity."

In its third year, Network World's Enterprise All-Star Awards program honors user organizations that demonstrate exceptional use of network technology to further business objectives. This year's competition drew more than 75 entrants, from which the publication selected the 10 companies that best illustrated how to capitalize on emerging technology or to implement more mature technology in new or particularly business-enhancing ways.

"When it comes to adopting cutting-edge, innovative technologies, DIRECTV has always been one step ahead -- and this mobile CRM implementation will serve as a model for countless enterprises moving forward," said Jim Somers, vice president of marketing, Antenna Software. "We are delighted that DIRECTV has been singled out for demonstrating that mobility not only adds value to an enterprise CRM system, but provides real and measurable business benefits on top of that."

AMPower SALES is a next-generation mobile CRM solution that enables sales teams to reach the highest levels of effectiveness by wirelessly delivering critical, real-time data to drive and manage the sales process. More than simply extending CRM functions, AMPower SALES contains a unique combination of productivity features that significantly improve the user experience. The enterprise-ready solution includes a bundle of advanced support, search and integration capabilities, which allow enterprises to empower their sales teams with the tools to work smarter, take better care of the customer and generate more business.
