RadioFrame Networks, a leading provider of femtocell and picocell radio access solutions, has signed a contract with Nokia Siemens Network for co-operation on Nokia Siemens Networks' 3G Femto Home Access. Under the terms of the agreement, RadioFrame Networks will provide its OmniRadio™ femtocell solutions, which conform to Nokia Siemens Networks' open architecture.
RadioFrame will deliver its femtocell base stations directly to operators, while Nokia Siemens Networks will deliver its Femto Gateway, as well as required services. This announcement from RadioFrame supports its increasing global presence, including the appointment of Mark Keenan as General Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) as a local business executive for network operators and partners.
"Nokia Siemens Networks is driving an open ecosystem that will boost the femtocell market. We are happy to play a role in that and our collaboration will enable operators to realize the full potential of fixed-mobile convergence," said RadioFrame Networks CEO Jeff Brown. "Our solutions are designed to help operators to roll out mass-market femtocell deployments rapidly."
"We are pleased to announce our collaboration with RadioFrame Networks. Operators now have greater flexibility and choice, thanks to the compatibility of Femto CPEs with our open architecture," said Timo Hyppölä, Indoor Radio Solutions Product Line, Nokia Siemens Networks.
RadioFrame Networks is the first to market with low-cost chip-based femtocell solutions, based on its OmniRadio™ processor, which are designed to help network operators achieve a large share of voice and data traffic, while enhancing service quality and customer loyalty. As an established technology provider to Tier 1 carriers and global OEMs, RadioFrame Networks offers a broad range of complete radio access solutions that are network friendly and integration-ready, to help operators get to market quickly. Its femtocells meet the cost objectives of Tier 1 carriers by providing solutions that reduce capital and operating expenses, through 'zero touch' deployment of 'plug and play' devices. RadioFrame also provides integrated management capabilities.
