Nippon Mining to Sell 60 Pct Stake in Info Service Unit
Tokyo, Dec. 21 (Jiji Press)–Nippon Mining Holdings Inc. said Friday it will sell 60 pct of outstanding shares in its wholly owned information service unit Central Computer Services Co. to major system integrator NTT Data Corp. on April 1.
The share transfer price will be decided later, said the major Japanese energy company.
Central Computer Services will aim to strengthen its competitiveness by coming under the wing of NTT Data, a member of the Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. group, according to Nippon Mining.
Central Computer Services, established in 1970, develops computer software and provide information processing services. In the year that ended last March, it posted a net profit of 339 million yen, up 4.3 pct from the previous year, and revenue of 16,291 million yen, up 5.0 pct.
Nippon Mining also said that it will set up a new wholly owned subsidiary in February to take charge of its group’s system planning and management functions. The unit, to be based in Tokyo, will have capital of 50 million yen.END
