Autonet Mobile Introduces New Consumer Internet Content Storage Service on Its In-Car WiFi Router
Posted on: Wednesday, 2 January 2008, 15:00 CST
Autonet Mobile (www.autonetmobile.com) today announced new product features to its service that let passengers simultaneously store personalized content and media within the car, while accessing the Internet from any WiFi enabled device through the Autonet Mobile WiFi Router. Together with Delphi, Autonet Mobile will feature its latest product next week at CES in Las Vegas in a Toyota Camry in Delphi's booth #5206, North Hall of the LVCC.
In addition to bringing the power of the Internet to the car by offering the first wireless Internet service for automobiles, Autonet Mobile's service now lets consumers download and store Internet-based movies, music, online games and more on the device. Passengers can access their personalized stored content via the unit's simple user interface from any wireless device including gaming consoles, media players, laptops, WiFi enabled cell phones or web tablets.
New Distribution Channel
Autonet Mobile has signed a deal with the Price Family Dealer Group and will begin product distribution in late Q1 through their dealerships: Toyota Sunnyvale, Toyota Marin and Marin Volvo in Northern California. Autonet Mobile will be installed and hard mounted inside the car by the dealership.
"Over the past year, we have seen that passengers want the power of the Internet in their cars," said Sterling Pratz, CEO of Autonet Mobile. "Autonet Mobile recognizes that consumers want the ability to access the Internet from their car, where they can share, store and access all forms of entertainment and data just as they do at home. And now that adults and teens have the ability to store and bring personalized entertainment and content with them into the backseat, the in-car DVD player is quickly becoming obsolete."
Autonet Mobile turns the car into a WiFi hotspot, delivering broadband connectivity to the vehicle. Autonet Mobile's patent pending TRU Technology makes the service easy to use, and enables seamless Internet access so that multiple passengers stay connected while in the car. Autonet Mobile ensures a secure, broadband-level connection within the car, and to any WiFi-enabled device within close proximity to the vehicle.
