Data Center Systems Prepares for Launch of New Intelligent Product Line
Posted on: Wednesday, 19 January 2005, 15:00 CST
DALLAS, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Center Systems (DCS) today announced that it has redesigned its patented Intelligent Fiber System 9000 (IFS/9000) and OptiManager(TM) product line under the new name; OptiWatch(TM). The redesigned product will be available in the first quarter of 2005. Developed for companies that need total control of their complex data center connectivity, the IFS/9000 is an advanced fiber management tool that physically connects and manages the diverse hardware of any data center infrastructure. The IFS/9000 is an intelligent, non-intrusive connectivity management system with integrated productivity features for tracking and reporting. Whenever a fiber cable is moved, the IFS/9000 automatically recognizes the change and updates its database, providing a simple and cost- effective method to track and maintain a data center's fiber connections.
In addition to its current features, DCS has added advanced connectivity intelligence with the OptiWatch(TM) Phoenix Series products. OptiWatch(TM) will bring automated topology discovery, work order creation and change management to a new level. Taking advantage of recent industry standardization efforts, DCS has also designed OptiWatch(TM) hardware and software to take advantage of the Microsoft .NET infrastructure, adding secure user levels and web access to manage the data center infrastructure from anywhere, at anytime. Finally, the OptiWatch(TM) Phoenix Series will offer new levels of capacity and scalability with a wide range of connectivity options.
"Our attention to leading connectivity infrastructure innovations continues to be a major value to the world wide customer base utilizing our intelligent infrastructure products. It is also what sets DCS apart from companies that simply provide physical connectivity within the data center," said Kevin Ehringer, CEO of DCS. "The OptiWatch(TM) enhancements will far exceed the capabilities of infrastructure management products available in the marketplace today and allow data center managers to take full advantage of recent innovations in server, storage and application virtualization."
