Hughes Signs Dow Electronics As Distributor for HughesNet Satellite Broadband Internet Service

GERMANTOWN, Md., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, announced today that it recently signed Dow Electronics to be a distributor of HughesNet(R) satellite broadband Internet service in the southeastern United States, home to many consumers who are not served by high-speed landline Internet providers.
Under the terms of the agreement, Dow Electronics will market primarily to retailers in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, North Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands who will sell and install the HughesNet satellite broadband access service. These retailers will sell HughesNet in addition to their satellite television and consumer electronics offerings, creating a new income opportunity for the dealers while reaching a large base of consumers who cannot receive broadband through landline services.

Dow Electronics, an authorized distributor for DISH Network, serves the southeastern United States, providing satellite television products to over 2000 independent retailers.
