Content mobility and security software company Migo has launched the Mobile Desktop 4, which synchronizes multiple devices for sharing digital content.
According to the company, the mobile desktop 4 is an upgrade of its earlier product, the Migosync. The solution allows the synchronization of data directly between two computers or multiple PC over a network. It can also sync chat history from Yahoo, Windows and AOL instant messenger applications to any computer.
"Our new version goes beyond mobilizing a PC desktop environment to a portable storage device and now enables users to also sync content directly between two or multiple PCs, so that all PC content is kept in sync and accessible whether it's between multiple PCs on a home network, a laptop and desktop computer or work PCs and home PCs," said Rob Halligan, chief operating officer at Migo Software.
Mr Halligan further added: "In 2008, we expect our Migo Mobile solutions to enable users to seamlessly connect, synch and access their content from virtually any device or online service, so that students, people on the go, families and businesses will realize easy, ubiquitous and fully synchronized access to their digital content from any location."
The company said that it is the first in a series of content mobility products planned for release in 2008, which are based on the company's Roundhouse content mobility platform. The solution will be available for consumers by March 2008 at a retail price of $49.99 for Windows XP or Vista compatible versions.
Earlier, Migo's rival Transmedia launched the Glide Sync, which synchronizes digital content on multiple computers and multiple mobile devices, including PDAs and smartphones.
