Hughes Network Systems, a provider of broadband satellite networks and services, has signed a distribution agreement with CVS Systems for its broadband internet service in the Midwest and Great Lakes region in the US.
Under the terms of the agreement, CVS will market primarily to retailers in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio who will sell and install the HughesNet satellite broadband access service. These dealers will sell HughesNet broadband in addition to their satellite television offering.
Tom Collins, president of CVS Systems, said: "However, we feel that HughesNet satellite broadband is a perfect complement product for our dealers, as their satellite television customers meet the same profile as HughesNet subscribers -- they live in areas where terrestrial options are often times unavailable. We believe the addition of satellite broadband will open up a new revenue stream for our dealers and a new sales channel for Hughes. It also helps CVS solidify our partnership with the retail channel of satellite specialists."
