Adobe Releases Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh

Software company Adobe Systems has introduced the Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 software for Macintosh, an update to its simplified photo editing software.
According to the company, Photoshop Elements 6 software includes Photomerge technology, which enables users to combine a series of shots to create a single group shot. Additionally, the quick selection tool reduces a once time-consuming select-and-adjust task to a single click. The guided edit mode helps users to improve any photo.
Additional enhancements include an improved conversion tool that converts color images into black-and-white images.
"Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh allows people to organize and find photos quickly, unleash powerful editing tricks without any heavy lifting, and creatively share photos that give them all the bragging rights," said John Loiacono, senior vice president of creative solutions at Adobe.
The solution also includes customizable layouts that let users to create scrapbook pages, photo books, greeting cards and burn to CD/DVD, the company said.
The company plans to introduce the solution in the second quarter of 2008 at a retail price of $89.99. Photoshop Elements will run on Mac OS X 10.4.8 or higher, including Leopard.
In September 2007, Adobe introduced Photoshop Elements 6 for Windows and Adobe Premiere Elements 4 for Windows featuring integration and a shared organizer, with a common database accessible from either application.
In March 2007, the company introduced two editions of Adobe Photoshop CS3 for designers and professional photographers, and professionals in architecture, engineering, medical and science. The editions included the capabilities for integration of 3-D and motion graphics, image measurement and analysis.
