Artist Serves Up Her Own Show ; Paintings on Display in Restaurant
By LIZ WALKER
AN artist has brought a touch of warmth to the cold winter months with her exhibition inspired by summer.
From a striking Flamenco dancer to summer landscapes, Linda Watson’s paintings reflect her own passions and interests.
A collection of her work is being displayed in Whitley Bay eaterie Restaurant 7. And Linda, of South Gosforth, says she has been delighted with the response from customers.
She said: “My paintings are very varied but they are mostly inspired by summer – from landscapes to people who I’ve met while on holiday.
“I also love photography and I think that comes across in my paintings.
“The Flamenco dancer seems to have been one of the most popular pictures and now I am thinking about starting a whole project on Flamenco.”
Linda took up art after being inspired by her father Stanley Tait, also a keen artist.
Anyone is welcome to visit Restaurant 7, 5-7 Marine Avenue, Whitley Bay, from 10am to late, Thursday to Sunday.
Artists who would like to exhibit their work can contact the restaurant on (0191) 251 9534.
