Molecular to Sponsor Facebook Developer Garage Boston Conference

Posted on: Tuesday, 15 January 2008, 09:00 CST

Molecular, Inc., a leading Internet consulting firm, announced today that it will host the Facebook Developer Garage Boston Conference on January 17, 2008 at the Stata Center at MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This premier Facebook developer event will feature speakers from Facebook, Molecular and other local companies, and is free and open to the public.

Now in its second year, the Facebook Developer Garage brings together the social network with Boston-area developers building applications for its highly successful development platform. With more than 8,000 Facebook applications, the platform offers developers the ability to plug into the Facebook social graph and provide Facebook members with extended functionality geared especially towards interactions with their friends.

Molecular, a leading developer of enterprise application integration with Facebook, will be sharing its groundbreaking techniques for simplifying application development on the Facebook platform. These innovative approaches include a new Java layer that minimizes the manipulation of data and the ability to develop applications independently, without having to expose your code or development environment.

Molecular will also present learnings from its work on Sprite Sips, a customizable branded character that consumers can use to interact with their friends online. Members can create a personalized Sprite Sips avatar, and then use their animated Sprite Sip to collect other Sips by luring them or adopting them from friends who neglect their own sips. The application has attracted 18,000 users to date with limited publicity.

The event will be held from 7:00 -- 10:00 p.m. in MIT's Ray and Maria Stata Center for Computer, Information, and Intelligence Sciences in Cambridge, Massachusetts. For more information, visit the Facebook Developer Garage web site.
