Apple Introduces Ulta-Thin Laptop
January 15, 2008
Apple Corp. unveiled its ultra-thin laptop computer, which the California electronics and software giant hopes will mimic the wildly popular iPod and iPhone.
Macbook Air — with its 13.3-inch screen and full-sized keyboard — was introduced Tuesday during the company’s Macworld expo in San Francisco. It is scheduled to ship in about two weeks.
Apple chief executive Steve Job called the machine the world’s thinnest notebook, measuring a mere 0.76 inches at its thickest and weighing about three pounds, The Wall Street Journal said.
But the small package carries a big price tag: $1,799.
