MONTREAL - A man who allegedly conspired to plant bombs with al-Qaida sympathizers in Austria will have a bail hearing at the end of the month.
Said Namouh appeared in a Montreal courtroom today and had the hearing put off until Jan. 31 because he has hired a new lawyer.
Namouh, originally from Morocco, was arrested by the RCMP in Maskinonge, Que., in September after authorities in Austria and Canada swept down and arrested four people in a suspected international bomb plot.
He will remain behind bars until the bail hearing.
Police allege Namouh was involved in a plot to make threats in a video to be broadcast on the Internet, warning that Germany and Austria would be attacked if they didn't pull their troops out of Afghanistan.
None of the allegations against Namouh has been proven in court.
