TOPIC: Due to concerns over the vulnerability of the U.S. power grid, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the first cyber-security standards for the country's electric industry, according to an article by The Associated Press. The standards were developed to prevent possible hackers from physically or electronically accessing the power grid. The mandatory reliability standards require personnel training on security issues and that recovery plans are in place in case of a cyber incident.
