Digital Lightwave NIC Plus Selected By Major European Telecommunications Equipment Provider to Address Emerging-Technology Needs in Optical Networks

Digital Lightwave(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:DIGL), a leading provider of optical networking technology and test instruments, today announced the selection of the NIC Plus(R) by a major European telecommunications equipment provider in support of implementing G.709, GFP and Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) systems. This selection further establishes Digital Lightwave's NIC Plus offering and capabilities in emerging-technology applications.

This selection represents a key sale with a longstanding Digital Lightwave customer. While continuing to utilize existing Digital Lightwave products for projects in Europe and North America, additional NICs containing advanced features have been obtained for supporting new deployments throughout the Pacific Rim.
The NIC platform provides a flexible architecture which may be optioned to provide PDH, SDH, OTN, NextGeneration features, GigE and other technologies all within the same instrument. The NIC Plus units are applicable to any network deployment worldwide, with appropriate configurations. NIC products are available in several form factors including rack-mount and DC-powered devices for use in centralized monitoring and troubleshooting applications.
