Pagemark Technology, Inc., an industry leading supplier of XPS software solutions for OEM device manufacturers and enterprise solution providers, has ported its XPS solution to Freescale Semiconductor's MPC8544 processor based on Power Architecture™ technology. As a result, Pagemark now allows OEM customers to quickly develop XPS-based solutions and services while lowering cost, increasing performance, and significantly reducing time-to-market. Pagemark is demonstrating the flexibility of its XPS solution at the 2008 Lyra Imaging Symposium in Palm Springs.
Pagemark's solution for Freescale's MPC8544 device based on Power Architecture technology runs on embedded Linux and utilizes Freescale's Signal Processing Engine (SPE) instructions with a 64-bit data path to help ensure optimized performance. The companies jointly created an evaluation platform which is available to customers.
"Freescale understands the need to collaborate with innovative solution providers like Pagemark Technology," said Jeff Timbs, director of strategic marketing for Freescale's Networking Systems Division. "Pagemark has demonstrated a deep understanding of Freescale's MPC8544 device by developing and porting a flexible set of XPS solutions around our technology. We are pleased to have partners such as Pagemark, and we look forward to future collaborative efforts."
"Freescale's processors based on Power Architecture technology present ideal platforms for addressing the computational requirement of the new XML Paper Specification (XPS)," said RanDair Porter, President of Pagemark Technology. "By working closely to port our XPS rendering solution on Freescale's MPC8544 device, this combined solution will allow OEMs to shorten their development cycles and enable a truly differentiated product at many price and performance targets. We look forward to continued collaboration with Freescale."
While at the Lyra Imaging Symposium, Pagemark will showcase its leadership and expertise on several fronts. RanDair Porter, of Pagemark, will be a key panel member presenting on "XPS, PDF and the Road Ahead". Pagemark is also exhibiting its leadership in the area of XPS solutions by demonstrating XPS rendering on Windows Vista, Windows CE, Apple Macintosh, and Embedded Linux. In addition, the company will also demonstrate its multi-platform XPS Viewer. The total suite of XPS products and solutions from Pagemark at this symposium will further galvanize its industry leadership position in the XPS market.
