Opticis Unveils DiVA: the Consummate Digital Video/Audio and Serial I/O Extension System
Posted on: Monday, 28 January 2008, 18:00 CST
Opticis Co., Ltd., the leading developer and manufacturer of optical extension systems, introduces DiVA: a full-feature product that stretches analog and digital audio, RS-232 serial I/O and DVI HD digital video up to 2km.
The DiVA M5-2A2-TR, consisting of a Transmitter (Tx) and Receiver (Rx), provides integration of these protocols using four LC-terminated glass optical fibers (GOF) up to 200m (656ft) for HDMI and 2km (6,560 ft) for DVI. High definition video signals up to WUXGA (1,920x1,200) and 1080p, for PC/MAC and HDTV environments are standard, providing full Display Data Channel (DDC2B) and High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) support. One of three Tx audio ports choices -- S/PDIF TOSLink port / jack, and analog R/L jacks, stretches to three Rx selectable audio port options. The RS-232 offers device-to-device and device-to-controller connections.
The product multiplexes and de-multiplexes the DVI/HDMI video, digital/analog audio, DDC2B command interface, HDCP and RS-232 serial protocol - allowing the use of two duplex-LC connector-terminated glass optical fiber pairs. GOF's immediate rewards are data security, long distance up to 2km without video degradation, easy plug-and-go installation, no RFI/EMI effects and a green benefit of heavy copper replacement with light-weight silicon glass. For easier installation planning, either singlemode or multimode GOF is useable.
For short lengths under 50m, the DiVA M5-2C2-TR model is an economical alternative. Dual CAT5e cables deliver solid performance with cost-effective standard cables.
"The DiVA products reaffirm our objective of providing long-distance, picture-perfect links for a variety of deployable applications," said Byeong-Ho Park, Opticis VP of Sales & Marketing, "including Pro A/V multimedia, industrial control, digital signage and machine automation applications."
Opticis is exhibiting the DiVA products, Jan. 29-31 at ISE 2008, booth #P22 in Amsterdam, NV. Product ships to Opticis' OEM Partners and Distributors in early March.
