CYGCOM and Paraxip Announce ''SIP Enable Your Telephony Cards'' Program for Intel Developers and Customers

Posted on: Monday, 31 January 2005, 06:01 CST

Paraxip Technologies, a developer of software solutions enabling the transition to IP telephony for speech, IVR and call center applications, and CYGCOM Integrated Technologies, a value added channel distributor of speech integration products and services for converged voice and data solutions, today announced the availability of the "SIP Enable Your Telephony Cards" Program for Intel(R) telephony developers and customers. This promotion is aimed at traditional Intel telephony customers who are currently considering a transition of their solutions to an IP telephony environment.

The specially priced promotional starter kit provides a low-cost, software-only solution that allows developers to implement a highly flexible VoIP gateway using existing standards-based building blocks from Intel and the Paraxip Gateway software. This combination enables traditional telephony TDM applications to readily support IP telephony using Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) Host Media Processing (HMP) software for SIP/RTP (Session Initiation Protocol / Real-time Transport Protocol). The combination of the Paraxip Gateway software and HMP software from Intel delivers the ultimate path to IP telephony for Intel telephony developers, seamlessly enabling an interface with both the IP network and the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network).

The "SIP Enable Your Telephony Cards" Starter Kit for only $249 includes:

-- Paraxip Gateway Software, 4 ports compatible with selected Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) and Intel(R) Dialogic(R) telephony boards including D41JCT-LS, D120JCT-LS, D480JCT, DM/V480A-2T1 and DM/V960A-4T1, for converting existing boards into SIP media gateways.

-- Intel(R) NetStructure(TM) Host Media Processing (HMP) software, 4 ports of each resource including SIP call control, RTP processing and voice processing, for converting existing Computer Telephony applications into SIP-based applications.

-- CYGCOM eSupport - three months of internet-based priority support services with a 24-hour response time to assist and provide access to a certified knowledge base during the transition to IP.

"VoIP gateways are an essential building block to an enterprises IP telephony solution and our ISV customers must be able to leverage their investment in traditional PSTN software solutions" states Jeff Valliant, President and CEO at CYGCOM. "CYGCOM is proud to work with Paraxip and Intel in bringing a traditional telephony solution into a controllable, programmable VoIP solution environment where tuning and performance can be completely managed by our ISV customers to ensure they optimize their development efforts for their IP voice solution consumers."

"As the industry swiftly moves toward IP telephony architectures, Paraxip has recognized the importance of designing solutions that maximize existing equipment and computer telephony expertise," said Serge Forest, President and CEO of Paraxip Technologies. "The Paraxip products ensure the flexibility standards-based building blocks from Intel, as well as the significant industry expertise built on these products are fully retained in our open gateway architecture."

"Host Media Processing (HMP) software from Intel was designed to enable our existing customers onto IP," said Jim Machi, director of product management, Modular Communications Platform Division, Intel Corporation. "We believe this program will allow our customers to extend their TDM solutions and move easily to an IP architecture."
