LongBoard Extends Its Global Footprint, Opening a New Sales Office in Tokyo, Japan

Posted on: Tuesday, 1 February 2005, 21:00 CST

LongBoard, a leading provider of managed enterprise mobility applications for wireline carriers, today announced the opening of a new sales office in Tokyo, Japan. The office, located in Hamamatsu-cho Square will help support the growing demand for enterprise mobility applications in Asia, and represents Longboard's first permanent sales office outside of the company's corporate headquarters in the United States.

"We more than doubled our subscriber base in Asia in 2004 and it is important for us to have a local presence to support this high growth market," said Daryl Mossman, vice president of Asia Pacific sales for LongBoard. "This site will be critical in allowing us to continue to offer superior service to our customers, and also provide us with direct access to our largest reseller partners in the region."

Mossman, who has more than 25 years of technical, marketing, and worldwide sales management experience in high-tech and communications, will head up sales in the Hamamatsu-cho Square building.

The new sales office will be supported by the LongBoard Mobility Application Platform (LMAP). LMAP is a SIP-based application server that sits in a carrier's network to support integration with existing IP-based communications and provide advanced IP communications services, as well as other new and emerging SIP-based applications. With the LMAP product deployed, LongBoard's new facility will also support product demonstrations to new and existing customers.
