Bosnian Serb Police Search Homes of Karadzic’s Bodyguards

[Presenter] Goran Kovacevic’s and Milomir Batinic’s homes have been searched in the Eastern Sarajevo municipality. Kovacevic and Batinic used to work as Radovan Karadzic’s [Bosnian Serb wartime leader, indicted by Hague tribunal] bodyguards. [Bosnian] Serb Republic police searched Kovacevic’s home in Pale and Batinic’s in Sokolac. The operation is reportedly targeting Karadzic’s support network. This is what the Serb Republic spokeswoman Tamara Maric had to say.

[Maric] The Serb Republic police special investigation unit members have acted on the orders of the Bosnia-Hercegovina Court. This morning they searched Goran Kovacevic’s home in Pale Milomir Batinic’s home in Sokolac because of the well-founded suspicion that they are part of Hague indictee Radovan Karadzic’s support network. Certain documents and material have been seized and they will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia- Hercegovina.
