AT&T has announced a three-year extension and expansion of a contract with United Rentals, an equipment rental company, to provide network services.
The company has claimed that United Rentals will continue to see the benefits of having communications consolidated onto AT&T's network, with an expected increase in network efficiency and better control of support costs.
AT&T will connect more than 690 United Rentals branch locations with voice and data connectivity. The company uses the AT&T network around the clock, with online tools that include an information system for employees and an account-management system for customers.
Dale Asplund, vice president of strategic sourcing at United Rentals, said: "The AT&T team is continually bringing new technologies to our attention that can help us further increase our ability to serve our customers. We expect to control costs and increase business efficiencies by having AT&T provide telecommunications and networking solutions for our company."
