ALISO VIEJO, Calif. and MILPITAS, Calif., Feb. 12, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leader in networking for storage and high performance computing (HPC), and LSI Corporation (NYSE:LSI) today announced that the two companies will be working together to cross-certify InfiniBand(r)-based storage systems from LSI with QLogic InfiniBand networking products. LSI, a charter member of the QLogic(r) HPCtrack(tm) program, plans to build on its longstanding relationship with QLogic through cross-certification efforts that allow both companies to deliver better InfiniBand solutions and support to joint customers.
"Our strong relationship with QLogic and its HPCtrack program is a key part of our InfiniBand product strategy. We are excited about the InfiniBand interoperability as it is the selected storage system interface from the first PetaScale-class supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory," said Julie Ryan, director of alliances, Engenio Storage Group, LSI. "With the ability to conduct interoperability certifications with the very latest solutions from QLogic and other critical members of the HPC ecosystem, we will be able to optimize the reliability and performance of our products for the marketplace."
"LSI has been a strong member of our SANtrack program for several years and with the addition of this important partner to our HPCtrack roster, we can begin to deliver compatible, best-of-breed InfiniBand solutions to our mutual HPC customers," said Joe Kimpler, director of business alliances, QLogic Corp. "We look forward to working closely with LSI as the HPC market continues to expand into increasingly broader applications."
