Verizon Extends Network Services in EMEA and Asia-Pacific

Posted on: Tuesday, 12 February 2008, 12:00 CST

Verizon has extended its local area network service in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, in addition to the US.

Verizon has claimed that its managed local area network (LAN) services will enable customers to outsource the management of their corporate networks. The managed service provides a seamless environment between the corporate headquarters' network and its extended network that connects partners, customers, remote employees and suppliers.

According to Verizon, multinationals can receive comprehensive network management experience, expertise, resources and capabilities locally. They can have a seamless view of wide area network (WAN) and LAN environments. It reduces the risks involved with deploying converged networks and emerging IP-based applications such as voice over internet protocol.

Dustin Kehoe, principal analyst of current analysis at Verizon, said: "The LAN is just as important as the WAN. The end-to-end customer solution enabled by Verizon managed LAN will be very attractive to the enterprise customer, and makes Verizon Business a stronger managed services supplier."
