Enterasys Networks Inc. announced today that it has been selected as the official InteropNet 2008 backbone and security provider for Interop Las Vegas & New York. The Enterasys Secure Networks(TM) solution will provide reliable, high-speed networking services for exhibitors, conference rooms and attendees as they build and manage the world's largest temporary network, connecting thousands of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors using VoIP and virtualization technologies. Proactive security protection measures will provide open access to the Internet while preventing threats and vulnerabilities from impacting Interop operations. InteropNet will deliver seamless operations from the show floor and behind-the-scenes event management that require the highest level of networking infrastructure security, simplicity and stability. Interop 2008 will be held at the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Convention Center (27 April-2 May 2008) and in New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center (15-19 September 2008).
"2008 saw the largest number of solution providers in the history of the program apply to be an official supplier for InteropNet," said Lenny Heymann, General Manager for Interop. "We are confident in our choice to partner with Enterasys based on their standards-based, open-architecture interoperability and embedded security capabilities."
"This is a special honor for Enterasys as we celebrate our 25th anniversary," said Mike Fabiaschi, Enterasys President and CEO. "InteropNet will provide us with a highly visible opportunity to show the industry our compliance, convergence and connectivity strengths as we demonstrate thought leadership without arrogance working with all the InteropNet volunteers and attendees from multiple global organizations."
Enterasys Supplies Backbone for InteropNet
Enterasys Secure Networks solutions will connect all of Interop's exhibitors and attendees while assuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information -- without sacrificing performance. IP telephony and virtualization technologies will be discovered, classified, prioritized and secured. Proactive security policies will automatically sense and respond to infrastructure threats at Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet speeds leveraging advanced Dragon(R) Security Information Management (SIEM), Network Behavioral Analysis (NBA), Intrusion Detection/Prevention (IDP), and Network Access Control (NAC) applications. Security will be everywhere -- built-in to all access, distribution and core connections -- leveraging high-availability Enterasys Matrix(R) and Enterasys SecureStack(TM) networking equipment. Unlike traditional technology-oriented port and VLAN ACL-based methods, network operators don't need to configure policies on a box-by-box basis using complex CLI commands. An intuitive NetSight(R) GUI will enable InteropNet NOC staff to define the policies once, and regardless of the number of moves, adds or changes throughout the event, have those user and application policies enforced automatically across the entire network.
