Arium ECM-XDP3 Offers Debug for Latest Intel(R) Processors
Posted on: Wednesday, 13 February 2008, 06:00 CST
American Arium, an industry leader in hardware-assisted development tools, today announced the release of its latest in-target probe for the Intel market. The ECM-XDP3 is designed to support next generation Intel(R) microarchitecture (code-named Nehalem) and other Intel processors due for release within the next 12 to 24 months.
"As Intel technology has advanced, so has Arium's products," American Arium's CEO Larry Traylor said. "The ECM-XDP3 is designed to support Intel's newest processors sporting XDP ports."
The ECM-XDP3 delivers reliable run control, and, depending on architecture, complex breakpoints with execution trace. The debug solution gives the software and firmware developer unsurpassed visibility to and development of code via a series of intuitive screens and dialogs with numerous viewing and customization options. SourcePoint operates in real time with all core frequencies, supports the Intel(R) Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), and works with today's most popular compiler tool chains. It supports industry-standard input file formats and includes a robust C-like command language. The ECM-XDP3 is one of Arium's environmentally friendly products, complying with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive specified for the EU market.
According to Intel, Nehalem microarchitecture offers dynamic scalability, design scalability, simultaneous multi-threading (SMT), scalable memory, and multi-level shared cache. Nehalem has its roots in the Intel(R) Core2 Duo(R) architecture, but has been architected for 45 nm. It is not only designed to take up to eight cores on a single die, but those cores can be mixed and matched with varied amounts of cache. Depending on the customer-requested SKU, it may incorporate an on-die memory controller and integrated graphics processor.
The ECM-XDP3, now ready for immediate delivery, is priced at $11,800; quantity discounts are available.
