New Global Telecom Selects Intrado V9-1-1 Mobility Service for VoIP Offer; Intrado First to Provide Comprehensive, Nationwide E9-1-1 Support for All Types of VoIP Users

Posted on: Tuesday, 8 February 2005, 09:00 CST

Intrado Inc. (Nasdaq:TRDO), a global provider of integrated data and telecommunications solutions, announced today that New Global Telecom (NGT), a leading provider of outsourced telecom network services, has chosen Intrado(R) V9-1-1(SM) Mobility Service for its wholesale VoIP solution. V9-1-1 Mobility Service is the first nationwide E9-1-1 solution for VoIP that supports mobile users, static users, and users with telephone numbers foreign to the local rate center. NGT will integrate Intrado V9-1-1 Mobility Service into its 6DegreesIP product suite, a set of managed wholesale VoIP products.

V9-1-1 Mobility Service provides nationwide enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1) for VoIP while enabling key features like mobility and foreign telephone number assignment. VoIP 9-1-1 calls are routed within the existing 9-1-1 network, delivering Automatic Location Information (ALI) and Automatic Number Information (ANI) on dedicated 9-1-1 trunks to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP).

"Our original 9-1-1 solution for VoIP only addressed the needs of static VoIP users, not mobile users and users with foreign telephone numbers," said Rich Grange, President and CEO of NGT. "Intrado V9-1-1 Mobility Service gives us a comprehensive 9-1-1 solution for all VoIP users on a single platform that we can offer to our customers."

"Intrado continues to lead the way in providing 9-1-1 coverage to VoIP subscribers," said Stephen Meer, Intrado chief technology officer. "It is essential that new technologies like VoIP have access to 9-1-1 service. Intrado is at the forefront, evolving the 9-1-1 infrastructure so that it quickly and easily supports VoIP and other emerging technologies."
