Comverse Announces Converged Solutions For Call Completion And Call Management; New Service Provides Ability To Manage Inbound Calls To The Wireline Phone From Mobile Phone or PC

Posted on: Tuesday, 8 February 2005, 09:00 CST

Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, today announced availability of Smart Call Convergence and Who Called Convergence. The newest members of the Comverse ImPact(TM) application suite are designed to enable operators to increase call completion rates and average revenue per user (ARPU) by providing subscribers with the ability to manage, in real-time, inbound calls to wireline phones from mobile phones or PCs.

Enabling on-demand call intercept, Smart Call Convergence provides a variety of real-time call-handling options for calls to wireline phones remotely from a mobile handset or PC. After viewing the caller's name or number on their mobile handset or PC, users can choose to take the call, or: forward it to another number; redirect it to voicemail for message screening; send a canned SMS response; let the call ring through to the wireline phone.

Who Called Convergence delivers remote notification of missed calls to wireline phones and voicemail hang-ups to a mobile handset or PC. The new offering builds upon the proven success of Who Called(TM), which has been successfully deployed at over 60 operators worldwide. Notification of missed calls encourages subscribers to return the missed call, generating incremental operator revenues.

Smart Call Convergence and Who Called Convergence are network, infrastructure and device independent. As a result, these converged solutions can be implemented immediately by network operators, potentially leading to rapid return on investment. These solutions were done in collaboration with SoloMio.

"With Who Called Convergence, users can be assured that they should not miss a call to their wireline phones. With Smart Call Convergence, users can easily manage these calls anywhere they are located. As a result, wireline services become more integrated into today's mobile world," said Benny Einhorn, Chief Marketing Officer at Comverse. "Smart Call Convergence and Who Called Convergence strengthen the Comverse Total Communication(TM) environment that enables users to communicate in the most appropriate and convenient way - anytime, anywhere."
