SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ — Apec presents the second edition of the “International Career Fair” (ICF’08), a two day recruitment event on Friday, February 29 and Saturday, March 1 at Hotel Nikko in San Francisco, California. With preeminent partners including the European Commission, Magellan, Europe+ Foundation, GSO (German Scholars Organization), LinkedIn, ZAV and ORIENTED.COM, the International Career Fair is becoming a major recruitment event in the United States for international students and professionals.

A major and unique Career Fair in San Francisco

“Last year’s event was an immense success with over 1000 participants, 30 recruiting companies and international organizations, and 1000 interviews held at the fair,” says Elisabeth Shemtov, Deputy CEO Apec, the largest French professional’s employment agency and organizer of the event. “We expect ICF’08 to be bigger with 40 exhibitors coming from Europe and the United States, and more keynotes and workshops.”

Global companies, such as Microsoft, GE, Dell, Baker Hughes, Renault, Lafarge, Total or Thales, come to San Francisco to interview engineers, researchers, and managers graduating from US universities, as well as seasoned professionals who are looking for an international career. They will recruit for over 700 job openings in Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Sourcing candidates from the leading universities, colleges of engineering and business schools, as well as among expatriate professional communities, and working closely with foreign consulates and embassies in the US, the fair is expecting more than 1,500 attendees coming from all over the country.

Valuable content on global careers presented in 6 keynotes and 11 workshops

Over two days, top executives from companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Ariba, Deutsche Bahn, and Orange Labs will share their experiences as global managers, and give tips on how to succeed internationally. Industry experts will present valuable information for anyone interested in working abroad, and for anyone working in a global environment.

Recruiting companies will present their activities during 30 minute sessions and explain the details and skills required for the job openings they are offering.

Qualified candidates can secure one-on-one interviews

By offering on-site interviews, ICF differs from a traditional job fair. After registering online at http://www.icf08.com/, job seekers upload their resume to a database reviewed by recruiters. If a match is found between the candidate skills/background and the job requirements, the system sets up an interview during the two days of the fair, and the candidate receives a confirmation email.

There is no charge to participate, but registration with resume uploading is required. Interested candidates can register online at http://www.icf08.com/ until February 24. Walk-in registration will be available on both days, starting at 11am on Friday, February 29 and 8am on Saturday, March 1. More information is available at http://www.icf08.com/.
