Mellanox Technologies Announces New Low Profile PCI-X Dual Port 10Gb/sec InfiniBand Host Channel Adapter

Mellanox(TM) Technologies Ltd., the leader in InfiniBand(TM) semiconductors, today announced the new MTLP23108 low profile HCA (Host Channel Adapter) PCI-X card that features the InfiniHost(TM) dual port 10Gb/sec HCA device. The PCI-X card is 2.5 inches tall by 6.6 inches long with configurations of 128, 256 or 512 MBytes of memory that support the dual port 10 Gb/sec low latency capabilities. This product complements the existing short form factor HCA PCI-X card that has been in production since January.
"We have had many customer requests for a smaller form factor PCI-X card," said Dave Sheffler, vice president of sales for Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. "This product enables InfiniBand to be installed into almost any server, storage, or embedded application; regardless of the form factor."
Low profile InfiniBand HCAs are ideal for dense rack mount installations of database clusters, high performance computing clusters, and storage applications where space and performance are at a premium. The MTLP23108 will be available in volume from Mellanox resellers in November and it uses the same software driver as our current card.
