Nextlink Expands Wireless Metro Ethernet Offerings for Carrier Partners
Posted on: Tuesday, 26 February 2008, 09:00 CST
Nextlink Wireless, Inc., a leading provider of carrier-grade, alternative access solutions with fixed wireless spectrum covering 81 major metropolitan markets, today announced the availability of a new, 30Mbps wireless metro Ethernet services offering for carrier reseller partners.
Nextlink has expanded its Wireless Metro Ethernet Services speed options to allow carriers to offer a mid-range Ethernet solution to businesses that need faster network throughput, but may not be ready for a full 100Mbps Ethernet networking solution. The new higher speed Ethernet service is now available in all Nextlink operational markets (www.nextlink.com/spectrum_map.htm) to partners that are taking advantage of Nextlink's "Self-Serve" option.
"Metro Ethernet is the quickly becoming the networking method of choice, and our fixed wireless capabilities enable carriers to offer Ethernet solutions beyond the reach of today's fiber networks," said Nextlink CEO Robert Beran. "With our expanded Ethernet speeds, our partners now have the ability to address the gap between 10 and 100 Mbps offerings."
Nextlink Wireless Metro Ethernet Services enable carriers to capitalize on broadband wireless as an alternative access option for their customers' "middle mile" and "last mile" network connectivity requirements to support any IP-based applications.
Nextlink Reseller Program
The Nextlink Reseller Program allows carriers to package carrier-grade, high-speed wireless alternative access with their own data services, private line and other managed network services. Program partners can take advantage of Nextlink's licensed spectrum in 81 major markets to reach more customers than ever before-faster and less expensively than most copper- or fiber-based solutions.
The Nextlink Reseller Program is unique because it allows partners options to efficiently manage their financial and network resources while expanding high-speed service offerings locally, regionally or nationwide. The Nextlink Reseller Program offers two alternatives based on partners business requirements and capabilities:
-- The Self-Serve Plan: This option is tailored for partners who desire to operate and manage the wireless service offering on an end-to-end basis. Nextlink provides the spectrum, equipment and frequency management and coordination for the carrier. -- The Turnkey Plan: This option is designed for partners who want to focus on marketing, sales and customer account management only; Nextlink provides everything else required to get the customer up and running.
