Avago Technologies, a provider of analog, mixed-signal and optoelectronic components, has launched its next generation AFBR-776/786BxxZ 12-channel parallel optic modules.
Avago has also announced the availability of its AFBR-775/785BxxZ 12 channel parallel optic module which delivers 5 Gbps per channel for a combined 60 Gbps per link (up to 150 meters).
Avago claims that its AFBR-776/786BxxZ 12-channel parallel optic modules provide 6.25 Gbps per channel for an aggregate of 75 Gbps per link. The 12-channel parallel optic devices include two-wire serial interface monitoring capabilities for expanded per channel functionality and programmability.
Daryl Inniss, vice president of communications component of Ovum RHK, said: "As a pioneer in the parallel optics industry, Avago continues its role in leading the SNAP-12 module space. With network demand continuing to grow at a fast pace, parallel optics provide many benefits over traditional copper connections in broadband networks."
