National Lampoon Inc. (AMEX:NLN), the most widely recognized brand in comedy, today announced that the trailer for its animated feature film, "Jake's Booty Call" has risen to today's #1 spot for comedy videos on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi4MbBvmWqM). Additionally, the company yesterday released the full length motion picture on DVD, making it available for sale and rental.
"Jake's" is an animated film whose flash games have been downloaded over 30,000,000 times by Internet users. The film tells the story of a super player and chick magnet who has taken on the challenge of helping his newest wingman, Siton Manaba, get lucky before his 21st birthday. The movie, which began as a wildly popular internet game for college students, followed up with a hugely successful college-focused theatrical release.
National Lampoon now stands as the #1 YouTube partner for the day, and the "Jake's" video ranks #1 on YouTube for the day in all comedy, beating out such entertainment behemoths as NBC, CBS, Warner Bros. Records, BBC, Fox News, and hundreds more.
Since launching the National Lampoon channel on YouTube, National Lampoon's creative team has produced some of the most seminal comedy videos online, each of which has generated millions of views across the Internet. They include:
