Progress Telecom Introduces Wireless T1 Wholesale Local Loop Service

Posted on: Monday, 14 February 2005, 09:00 CST

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Following the acquisition of Pure Connection, Progress Telecom announced today the launch of a new T1 wireless local loop service in Orlando, Florida. This innovative, yet affordable service provides customers with a reliable end-to-end solution that gives them the capability to reach their target destinations. Using both traditional T1 services as well as scalable 3Mbps to 10Mbps links, Progress Telecom is providing customers with a flat rate offering that gives them point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless connections.

"Our customers now have the ability to reach the last mile using a technically advanced yet economical alternative," said Ron Mudry, President and CEO of Progress Telecom. "We wanted to provide our customers with a complete solution while saving them money. With the acquisition of Pure Connection, a fixed wireless operator, it gives our customers the advantage of using a combined fiber-based and wireless Ethernet solution that allows them to reach the edge."

Another economical advantage of this new service is its scalability. Customers can purchase their current bandwidth requirements and plan for future expansion without incurring the exorbitant costs of switching between technologies. The wireless T1 service provides customers with the advantage of combined technologies that create a scalable and flexible solution for their existing and future business needs.

Progress Telecom will continue to build upon Pure Connection's expertise to use the optimized Ethernet and wireless product to provide customers with an economical end-to-end solution that will expand into other metro areas.
