RICHMOND, Va., Feb. 29 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Cavalier announced the launch of its Hi-Speed Internet service with Google Apps(1) — Google’s web-based platform for communication and collaboration. Cavalier is the first company in the communications industry to launch these services.

All of Cavalier’s new and current Hi-Speed Internet subscribers will now have access to Google’s popular communications tools such as Gmail(1) e-mail services, Google Calendar(1) for shared scheduling, Google Product Search(1) for shopping, Google Picasa(1) for photos, and the Google Start Page feature which will allow subscribers to create a customizable home page. The services are powered by Google and offered as part of the Cavalier domain. Nearly 8.7 million people are eligible for Cavalier’s Hi-Speed Internet service.

Cavalier’s unique Hi-Speed Internet offering delivers up to 15mbps speeds with typical customers getting over 8mbps. While the addition of Google Apps(1) will have no noticeable effect on it’s existing service, current Hi-Speed Internet customers will be able to update their software through a simple downloadable tool.

“Our relationship with Google allows us to offer our users some of the most innovative applications on the web,” stated Cavalier CEO, Ed Meyercord. “Cavalier’s Hi-Speed Internet customers now receive the fastest download speeds, the best email system and the most time saving features at the lowest price.”

Along with Google Apps(1), all of Cavalier’s Hi-Speed Internet subscribers will continue to receive the same standard features: a free modem, three free e-mail addresses, and personal web space.

The Google Apps(1) Premier Edition suite was named 2007 product of the year by PC World magazine. Millions of consumers and business customers around the world rely on the speed, ease of use and innovative features of Google applications to organize their lives and stay in touch with friends and colleagues.
