"IPeria's ActivEdge Voicemail and Unified Messaging Solution Interoperable with Motorola's 3G IMS Architecture"
IPeria, Inc., the emerging leader in messaging and communications software for VoIP, today announced that its ActivEdge Software is now available for 3rd generation (3G) and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) wireless architectures. IPeria's ActivEdge software products have been tested and are interoperable with Motorola Inc.'s (NYSE:MOT) industry leading IMS and 3G wireless products.
IPeria's ActivEdge software provides wireless service providers with a scalable and high performance solution for enhanced services such as telephone and internet based voicemail, automated telephone operator (auto-attendant), fax, and unified messaging with advanced wireless notification capabilities.
The IMS and 3G wireless architecture allows users to simultaneous access multiple real time and non-real time communications applications. These applications include; mobile and push to talk telephone calls, SMS messages, ability to download audio and video clips, access the internet, audio conferencing, video conferencing, voicemail, and unified messaging with advanced notification capabilities.
Mobile operators can begin by implementing IMS in the core of their network, and over time can migrate to end-to-end IMS communications using IP enabled mobile phones and other devices.
IPeria's ActivEdge software runs on industry standard servers and leverages off the shelf media servers. This enables wireless service providers to choose best of breed hardware components and enables multiple applications share common hardware components.
IPeria is a key participant in Motorola's IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Interoperability Program that was launched in 2004. The purpose of this program is to provide wireless operators with a broad selection of multimedia applications that interoperate with the Motorola IMS through standards-based interfaces," said Michael Koenig, Motorola Networks.
The Motorola IMS is a carrier grade system based on Motorola's SoftSwitch platform that currently is in service and in trials around the world. While supporting today's 2G and 3G networks, the Motorola SoftSwitch also serves as a starting point for seamless evolution into the future IMS-based packet network core. Motorola's IMS solution enables converged voice, data and video applications through standards-based interfaces.
"IPeria has undergone testing and validation through Motorola's IMS Interoperability Program and is now poised to provide messaging and communications applications as part of their IMS and 3G solution for wireless service providers," said Christopher Berluti, VP of Business Development, for IPeria. "Motorola is one of the leaders in the wireless market and we look forward to working with them to provide network service providers with an IMS solution that includes IPeria's messaging and communications applications."
The Motorola IMS Interoperability Program is designed to provide operators with a broad selection of multimedia applications that interoperate with the Motorola IMS through standards-based interfaces.
Motorola will be demonstrating their IMS solutions, including applications enabled by IPeria's voicemail and unified messaging products, at the 3GSM show in Cannes, France in February.
