VoIP Provider IPtimize Installs Nationwide IP Telephone Solution for MonierLifetile
DENVER, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ — IPtimize, Inc., a managed VoIP services provider serving small- and medium-size enterprises, announced today it has completed the installation of an IP Telephone Solution for MonierLifetile, the nation’s leading manufacturer of roof tile products for homes.
“We needed a comprehensive, integrated business communications system to connect all of our offices and plants — giving us a ‘one-company’ look and feel,” said Walt Hadzinsky, MonierLifetile’s director of information technology services. “Going 100 percent with Toshiba allowed us to have a completely networked system … for less than half the cost of buying another manufacturer’s system.”
IPtimize, an authorized Toshiba dealer, installed a number of complementary Toshiba systems serving more than 1,000 employees at 15 facilities, including manufacturing plants and sales and service offices throughout the U.S. The new IP-enabled Toshiba Strata CTX platform allows MonierLifetile to gradually migrate to an all IP-based communications system, while allowing the company to reuse all its digital telephone handsets from an earlier Toshiba platform.
“To implement IP, all we have to do is plug a Toshiba IP phone into virtually any Internet connection,” said Fernando Mejia, a network administrator for MonierLifetile.
In addition, the networked solution enables four-digit extension dialing, virtually eliminating all long-distance charges between the company’s 15 locations.
“We’ve reduced our LD expenses more than 50 percent since installing the system,” continued Hadzinsky. “We estimate the Toshiba system also improved productivity by at least 15 percent. This means that our employees can work faster, solve problems more quickly and provide improved customer service.” Hadzinsky added that other benefits of the system include a Web-based company directory, centralized voice mail, in-house conferencing, a centralized call center, and significant savings in service and maintenance costs.
In addition to hardware-based VoIP solutions, IPtimize’s service offerings also include Voice Pilot(SM), a network-based VoIP application over an existing broadband connection that doesn’t require any capital investment. Voice Pilot(SM) is available via three mediums: a SIP-enabled handset (SIP, or Session Initiation Protocol, is a signaling protocol for Internet telephony), an analog handset (using an analog telephone adapter, or ATA), or a simple-to-use desktop application (“soft phone” on the PC).
IPtimize offers Voice Pilot(SM) in three packages: Business Class, Solo and Economy. Business Class Voice Pilot(SM) is a feature-rich VoIP package highly suited to the pro-active business seeking easier telecom management, improved productivity and reduced costs. Solo Voice Pilot(SM) — for the small-office-home-office environment — provides all of the features and functionality of the office environment at lower costs but without group-setting functionality. Economy Voice Pilot(SM) provides clients with a standard phone line that can be dedicated to a single function, such as faxing, for a low per-month charge.
