Biometric software and hardware provider Futronic Technology has introduced the latest version of its Finlogon software that supports Microsoft Vista and Windows 2008 server.
Finlogon offers fingerprint-authentication for Microsoft Windows log-on. There are two editions: Personal and Enterprise. Finlogon Personal edition works on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. Users need to buy Futronic's FS80 USB2.0 fingerprint scanner, but the software is free from Futronic's web page.
Finlogon Enterprise edition targets corporate customers in a networked computing environment. A server component works on Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers, while a client component works on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista. It is available for a per-user license fee.
Finlogon also includes two free software tools: a one-touch password filler, and fingerprint file encryption. Both tools share Finlogon's fingerprint database so it is only necessary for users to register fingerprint once.
