Vizada Launches Enhanced Version SkyFile(R) Mail Messaging Solution

Posted on: Tuesday, 4 March 2008, 09:00 CST

Vizada, the world's leading provider of global satellite communications solutions with more market share on more satellite networks than any other provider in the world, today launches an enhanced version (7.0) of its SkyFile® Mail messaging solution.

With version 7.0, SkyFile Mail's email and SMS capabilities can now be offered as a prepaid service used together with Vizada's Universal CardTM. The Universal Card is the only solution on the market providing a prepaid voicemail/SMS service on both Iridium and Inmarsat mobile satellite devices. It enables crew or team members to manage their personal communications as they can register their own sub-account and set message parameters according to their needs and budget.

Version 7.0 of the software also features the SkyFile NOAD (Notice of Arrival and Departure) function, aimed at creating and simplifying the submission of electronic forms required by the US authorities. Relevant forms and documents are completed by the user and automatically transferred into SkyFile Mail. Updated documents are sent to the US Coast Guard during the next SkyFile server connection. Users can register for this service on the dedicated website: http://webmail.skyfile.com/regnoad.htm. The feature has been officially approved by the US authorities.

The shore-to-ship filtering function allows users to set customized filtering specifications according to volume transferred, address name and domain name. Accounts can be configured through the web-based remote configuration tool by creating white lists containing different values per user.

"We are continually evolving the components of our Vizada SolutionsTM portfolio in line with our customers' requirements," said Anders Kallerud, Executive Vice-President Product Management & Marketing, Vizada EMEA & Asia. "SkyFile Mail can be used on land and at sea, but many of our main users operate large fleets of maritime terminals and these latest features have been developed with them in mind."

Vizada's SkyFile Mail free software provides two-way email, e-fax and SMS messaging on Inmarsat, Iridium and Thuraya mobile satellite terminals. Suitable for users at sea and on land, it has been designed to work on any desktop PC or laptop. SkyFile Mail compresses data, which reduces connection time and in turn costs.

To install SkyFile Mail version 7.0 or to upgrade from a previous version, customers can download the software from Vizada's website (www.vizada.com) or request an installation CD from Vizada Customer Care.

SkyFile Mail is a key component of the Vizada SolutionsTM portfolio. Version 7.0 is the first available to both former FTMSC and former TSS customers since the creation of the Vizada group in September 2007, bringing together two leading satellite communications players.
