Nokia Siemens Networks and TCS Sign R&D Services Deal

Nokia Siemens Networks, a communications service provider based in Europe and Tata Consultancy Services, an Indian IT services, business solutions and outsourcing company, have signed a multi-million Euro agreement to transfer product engineering and R&D services as well as parts of the operations and business software business unit activities from Nokia Siemens Networks to TCS.

According to TCS, the reassigned parts belong to the Nokia Siemens Networks development center in Dusseldorf, Germany, including 90 employees who will be transferred to TCS as part of this engagement.

With this agreement Nokia Siemens Networks and TCS say that they will create a set-up whereby TCS will provide global R&D services to Nokia Siemens Networks. The transfer of R&D capabilities to business partners such as TCS is part of Nokia Siemens Networks’ overall strategy to realize synergy savings.
