Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that HiNet, a Taiwanese Internet service provider (ISP) wholly-owned by Chunghwa Telecom, has expanded the capacity of its GigaPOPs with multiple Juniper T640 core routers. HiNet's GigaPOPs are ultra-high performance points of presence supporting advanced IP traffic across the entire HiNet network. The T-series will enable HiNet to support increased demand, and deliver an enhanced user experience for a range of quality, secure and scalable services.
"HiNet has enhanced its core capacity to support growing customer demand for its innovative services such as voice over IP, high-speed internet access and e-Learning services," said Eric Lin, general manager, Taiwan, Juniper Networks. "HiNet is leveraging the T-series' high-performance hardware architecture, and the proven JUNOS software for better scalability and simplified operations and management."
With over 3000 platforms deployed worldwide, the T-series is the industry's most proven, scalable, feature-rich, and flexible core routing platform, with the scale, performance, reliability and security required by the world's most demanding IP networks. All Juniper Networks T-series routers leverage JUNOS software, which enables consistent operations, network scale without disruption, and unprecedented interoperability and service agility.
"Greater China's Internet service providers are aggressively expanding routing capacity to address demand for innovative, high-performance IP applications," added Lin. "The T-series will allow HiNet to quickly scale while delivering industry-leading performance, service flexibility and efficiency, enabling accelerated time-to-market to address customer demand."
