Linthicum: Electronics Museum to Host Girl Power Day

The Historical Electronics Museum, 1745 W. Nursery Road, invites girls in middle and high school to attend Girl Power Day at 12:30 p.m. on March 21.
“On Girl Power Day we will provide science, technology, engineering and math activities to motivate girls to become innovative and creative thinkers,” Michael Simons, director of the museum, wrote in an e-mail announcing the event.
Girl Power Day is for students in grades 6 to 12. Museum officials are requiring pre-registration because the size of the class is limited to 30 students.
Tickets are $15 for members of the museum, $25 for nonmembers.

Art show
St. Philip Neri School, 6401 S. Orchard Road, will host its third annual student art show from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
The theme of this year’s show is “Space World.” Tickets are $3.
The student’s works will be on display in the art room.

Holy week services
Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane, will hold the following services during Holy Week.
On March 16, Palm Sunday, there will be traditional worship services at 8:30 and 11 a.m. in the sanctuary; a contemporary worship service will be held at 9:40 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
On March 20, there will be a service of Holy Communion at 10 a.m. in Holly Run Chapel on the church grounds and at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.
On March 21, Good Friday, there will be an ecumenical crosswalk program at noon that will begin at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6405 S. Orchard Road. At 7 p.m. there will be a Tenebrae service in the sanctuary at Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church.
The church will host its 15th annual Easter breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on March 22. An Easter egg hunt will follow.
The menu includes pancakes and sausage or scrambled eggs, sausage and toast.
Tickets are $4 for those 3 and older. Children 2 and under will be admitted free. Tickets may be purchased on Sunday mornings in the Sunday school office; orders may be dropped at the church office during the week. The dropped-off orders must be placed inside a sealed envelope along with the exact amount for the tickets and a completed order form.
Tickets will not be sold at the door.
The Easter Bunny is expected to stop by for a visit after breakfast.
Attendees are asked to take a donation of nonperishable food for the North County Emergency Outreach Network.

Centennial breakfast
The Rev. William F. R. Gilroy, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, will be the guest speaker at the Linthicum Centennial Prayer Breakfast, presented by the Woman’s Club of Linthicum Heights.
The breakfast will begin at 9:30 a.m. on March 12 at Linthicum Heights United Methodist Church, 200 School Lane. The Rev. Gilroy will speak on the topic of “Then and Now,” offering a retrospective on the history of the community.
Tickets are $10. Organizers are taking reservations for tables of 10 people.
Proceeds will benefit Sarah’s House, HOPE Inc. and The Fouse Center.
