Final Day of the Texas Instruments Developer Conference Features Closing Keynote on Advancements in Sports Broadcasting Technology

HOUSTON, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- TI DEVELOPER CONFERENCE -- As the TI Developer Conference 2005 began its final day of sessions and workshops, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) employees joined with conference attendees and exhibitors for a morning keynote featuring how advancements in sports broadcasting have brought new levels of excitement and interaction for sports lovers worldwide. Sam McCleery, executive vice president of PVI Virtual Media Services, a company that delivers sports broadcasting breakthroughs, singled out several digital enhancements to sports programming including the use of virtual first-down markers for football, animated strike zones for baseball and innovative new techniques in imaging and camera usage.

Prior to the keynote, TI announced a new power amplifier processor chip, the GC1115 crest factor reduction (CFR), designed to significantly increase the efficiency of base station power amplifiers. TI also unveiled the DAC5687, a 16-bit, 500-MSPS dual-channel digital-to-analog converter used to decrease base station noise, resulting in reduced radio frequency design requirements and base station costs.

TI will hold worldwide TI Developer Conferences in the coming months in Asia, Europe and Israel. Conferences in Asia will be held in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taipei and Seoul April 18-28, while Milan and Tel Aviv will host the European conferences on May 25 and 30.
