Sales on the rise: Global personal computer sales will rise 4.8 percent this quarter, according to a forecast by Gartner Inc.’s Dataquest market-researcher unit. About 33.2 million PCs will be shipped in the quarter, and shipments this year may increase by 7.9 percent to 138.7 million. Sales are expected to rise in the second half of the year, as companies start replacing aging equipment, the study said. Hewlett-Packard Co., which held a 16 percent market share last year, unseated Dell Computer Corp. as the largest PC maker. Dell held a 15 percent share.
